 EVENT AND RACING SUMMARY
 2009 Summary of events

In 2009, members of my crew and I have volunteered 100 hours to repair the car and trailer and perform any required maintenance. We have spent an additional 120 hours to attend events on our time without pay or compensation. In addition we drove 760 miles to attend the various events. Here is what we have done each month with the program for 2009:

January This month was spent conducting maintenance on the racecar as well making a few changes such as adding new gauges, adjusting the suspension and other tweaks to make the car more consistent.

On 1/31, we attended the Countlyline Dragway Beat the Heat event. There we raced against kids and local racers on their 1/8th mile drag strip. While there we had the opportunity to speak with more than 100 kids and young adults about the dangers of street racing.

February - On 2/8, we attended the Countlyline Dragway Beat the Heat event. There we raced against kids and local racers on their 1/8th mile drag strip. While there we had the opportunity to speak with more than 100 kids and young adults about the dangers of street racing.

We also allowed them to sit in the racecar and take pictures with their families. This was the first such event at the police department and the turnout was very high.

We also provided interviews and demonstration runs for the Outdoor Channel who was on hand to film a special about Countyline Dragway and the Beat the Heat Program. The episode was scheduled to air later this year.

July- On 7/30 we packed up and drove to the Central Florida Racing Complex located in Orlando, Florida to support the Orange County Beat the Heat Chapter. Unfortunately rain arrived just as we did and we were never able to make a pass down the track. However, we spoke with the Orange County Sheriff about the program as well as providing several interviews for the local media that were on hand. We also spoke with the 50 kids and young adults who braved the weather.
